The Brain and Epilepsy
Class today made me wonder where glutamate and gamma aminobutyric acid was produced in the brain. I found that gamma aminobutyric acid is also used in the suppression of epilepsy. I further looked to find that usually after a grand map seizure, a patient may not have another seizure. This reminded my of my past experience with epilepsy as a child and wondering where in the brain it most affected.

ReplyDeleteThis is a good question! Actually, depending on the type and reason of seizures, different part of the brain can be affected.
